The Black Squirrel 5K is a Running race in Kent, Ohio consisting of a 5K.

Please join us for our Annual Black Squirrel 5K Race. The race, named after Kent State University's unofficial mascot, will be held at 8 a.m. An awards ceremony will be held immediately after the race and participants are invited inside the Student Recreation and Wellness Center for a variety of food and beverage items. The course is a loop course beginning and ending near the entrance to the Student Recreation and Wellness Center on the Kent State University Campus. The course takes runners through the campus via the Esplanade and Portage Bike and Hike Trail. A few small hills add to the runners' experience and participants should be on theKeep Reading lookout for the infamous black squirrels.
