Annual Survival Race for Heroes. All are welcome to compete.
This is a fundraiser event for 10 CAN, Inc. and other like-minded non-profits. We honor families of Veterans and First Responders KIA, wounded, or injured in the line of duty. 10 CAN is a Christian Adventure Network that focuses on developing children of warriors through outdoor adventures, empowering Purpose Driven Veterans, and rehabilitates Wounded First Responders through retreats.
This race begins at Blue Springs with a 1.5 mile ruck, land navigational challenge, boat drag, and then downstream river course. Your destination is the Fort White Wilderness Area. Upon landing, competitors will hustle to their checkpoint for a timed check-in. All must survive the night with only the gear they carried with them from the beginning (Wounded Warriors may receive outside assistance from their sponsor). The next morning we will launch in reverse sequence. Competitors will paddle to the Suwannee River, then head downstream to the finish line at Hart Springs. Closing ceremony, awards presentation, and an after-party will follow.
