The Rainier Community Retro Run is a Running race in Rainier, Washington consisting of a Kids Run/Fun Run and 5K.

Dust off your leg warmers, tease your hair, grow your mullet, pull out the MC Hammer pants and get your run on!


Rainier High School is excited to announce the annual Rainier Community Retro Run. This event is sponsored by the Rainier High School Cross Country Team, with all proceeds benefiting the cross country program. Our goal is to put on a fun, competitive event for the athletes and community. The Retro Run features a 5k fun run, which will begin at the high school, loop through the adjoining residential development, and follow the elementary school trail to eventually loop back to the high school stadium. Throwback attire is highly encouraged! To help set the mood, every ½ mile will feature music from a different decade. You can sprint, sock-hop, electric slide, or head-bang your way to the finish line. In addition to the 5k, there will be a kids .5 mile run for ages seven and under. The kids' .5 mile starts at 9:30, and the 5k will begin at 10AM.
