The Garrett's Hero Run for Duchenne is a Running race in Johnson City, Tennessee consisting of a 1 Mile and 5K.
COME DRESSED IN YOUR BEST SUPER HERO THEMED OUTFITS!! East Tennessee State University's Pre-Health Living-Learning Community will host a 5K run and one-mile fun walk. The event will raise money for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a fatal inherited neuromuscular disorder that causes progressive muscle weakness and degeneration. Although there is currently no cure, promising discoveries in gene therapy are being evaluated.
Dubbed "Garrett's Hero Run-ETSU," the 5K is being hosted in honor of a young, superhero-adoring boy named Garrett who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Participants are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite superhero.
