Start Children's Center 5K - Troy, New York - Running

The Start Children's Center 5K is a Running race in Troy, New York consisting of a 5K.

The START Children's Center 5k will be held at our soon to be new location at 127 Bloomingrove Drive, Troy, New York (behind the North Greenbush Police Department). Join us for the ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m.!

Day of registration & packet pick up will begin at 9:00 am; the day-of cost is $40 per person

There will be a kids' 1-mile fun run free of charge to all children aged 13 and under. The START Center asks for the donation of a hygiene product from each child who participates in the run (i.e., shampoo, deodorant, etc.) The START Children's Center will also be holding an open house at the same time.



The START Children's Center of Rensselaer County is a 501(c)(3) Non-profit organization. As mentioned in our mission statement, we provide services that reduce the trauma children endure due to being a victim of abuse, or a witness to violence. The Center is designed in a child-friendly manner that caters specifically to their needs. A focus is also placed on supporting the non-offending members of the victim's family.

We are very involved in the local community. Our community involvement is accomplished through school presentations for staff, agency presentations, fundraising efforts, participation with different community committees, and hosting of bi-weekly START Meetings. The Center also has many student intern and volunteer opportunities.
