The swimming portion runs parallel to the beach and the waves are typically small so early in the morning.
The bike portion has a beautiful 11.1 mile course along the Lake Minnewaska and beautiful views and the run is 2.5 miles
out and back along the Lake and finishes by a soccer field.

This is my 2nd time running this marathon. In 2015, I ran it for the first time and was my first marathon, so it holds a special place in my heart. Will continue to do it.

The Balboa Park 8 Miler is one of my favorite local races. It combines both road and trail running through one of the biggest draws to America's Finest City. Even though Balboa Park is essentially my back yard and I run in the park frequently, I still love participating in this
