This is one of the oldest races in Vermont and has great history and character. It is mostly on dirt roads and there is a gradual uphill toward the turn around making the last half feel easier than the first half. Don't expect a lot of hoopla, but it is pleasant

This race was very easy to access and had amazing weather and a scenic route. I enjoyed running it since it was well-managed and the crowds were minimal. Packet pick-up was at Navy Pier, though, which was somewhat difficult to access.

Ran the state side half marathon because I got closed out of the Canada/U.S. Half. But, getting over that disappointment was easier with the 10 am start. Flat course with lots to see. Bridges, parks, sky scrapers, tuba and bag pipe players, costumes and fountains. Detroit is not as broken down
