Thank you for supporting our event. A number of event pictures are posted on our 5K website for you to view. Here is the link.
There are also pictures posted on the runsignup site as well as a short video of all the chipped runners crossing the finish line.
We look forward to having you join us next year for our "sunny 13th Annual Waldwick 5K Run. !
Although the race committee has no control over the weather the rain did put a damper on the day. In spite of that the sponsors were great; (margaritas - nice touch) the ceremony was inspiring and the swag excellent (rain poncho -outstanding!). Looking forward to next year!
This race is always one that I look forward too. It's my local town so I am a bit biased.
My rating notes some of the topics but I think one that needs to be added is that being a non-chipped race, people in the back tend to get the shorter end More...
Thank you for your positive comments regarding our 5K Run event. Being an avid runner I do understand your comments and concerns regarding gun time and chip time results. Safety for our runners is our first concern. We do attempt to separate the faster runners from the slower runners with hand held signs and announcements but as you know that can be very difficult to monitor. Another interesting fact to note, USATF does not allow awards be given based on chip time. This is from their website:
Net times, defined as the elapsed time between an individualas transponder generated starting and finish times, shall not be used for any purpose other than USATF Masters LDR records.
a Net times should not be used for determining award winners.
We look forward to seeing you again next on a "bright sunny day" to run in our 13th Annual Waldwick Chamber of Commerce 5K Run.
Keep on Running,
