Rhode Island Youth Triathlon - Charlestown, Rhode Island - Triathlon

The Rhode Island Youth Triathlon is a Triathlon race in Charlestown, Rhode Island consisting of a Youth/Kids.

This is a family friendly event where all levels are welcome followed by a brunch for all race families. We are very lucky to be located at beautiful Ninigret Park for all participants to enjoy this event. Children/teens can discover what it is like to have fun competing in a triathlon event. The bike will be on the Criterium race course which is approx. a 1 mile loop paved loop used for bike races. Event will be timed with 5 splits by Time to TRI . Awards are based on finish time. Every child receives a medal at the finish line and trophies will be given to the top three finishers (male and female) in each age division. This event will mark the third event in our NE Multi-sport Challenge series. Every child who registered and participated in all three events will receive a special award at the awards ceremony immediately following the race. NOTE* All participants 11 years and over will be swimming in water over their head. All children 7-10 years old will also be over their head at times during the swim. For a portion of the course they will not be able to touch. Lifeguards will be spread along the route to assist as needed.

Ages 7-8 yrs old 100 yard swim 2 mile bike .75 mile run
Ages 9-10 yrs old 100 yard swim 2 mile bike .75 mile run
Ages 11-12 yrs old 200 yard swim 4 mile bike 1.5 mile run
Ages 13-14 yrs old 200 yard swim 4 mile bike 1.5 mile run
Ages 15-17 yrs old 200 yard swim 4 mile bike 1.5 mile run
SUPERSPRINT Ages 11-17 300 yard 6 mile bike 2 mile run

Lifejackets can be worn in the water. Training wheels can be used. This event is for all ability levels. We will have first time triathletes as well as athletes that have raced in over 25+ races.
