Urban to Upstate Charm
IRONMAN 70.3 Musselman is the perfect race for athletes who want to experience an urban, upstate adventure. You'll start your race with a swim in Seneca Lake followed by a bike course that takes you into the rolling hills of the Finger Lakes Region, boasting incredible views of both Seneca and Cayuga Lakes. The run course will lead you on a journey along the shores of Seneca Lake and through the vineyard region before completing the day with a picturesque finish on the shores of one of the most iconic Finger Lakes. It's not just about finishing a" it's about experiencing all this beautiful area has to offer and making memories along the way.

Swim
We will be featuring a new swim start along Seneca Lake Park. One of the most exciting things coming this year is our new swim start. Athletes will enter the water off the pier in front of the Finger Lakes Welcome Center in the shadows of the I LOVE NY sign. This new start format will help athletes avoid the sun spotting issues from prior years to have a more enjoyable swim and start to the race. Also, what used to be transition is now the expo area and vise versa.

Bike
Athletes will experience a rolling, scenic course. This 56-mile bike course offers beautiful vistas of the Finger Lake Region while athletes will tour the rural roads of the area. The bike leaves the shores of Seneca Lake and climbs out of the valley before riding over to Cayuga Lake. This is a one loop/lollipop shape course. Be ready for a fast last few miles as athletes decent back to Seneca Lake.

Run
The new 2 loop course features some of the best elements of the area and we think this will provide you with a great experience running along Seneca Lake and on the campus of Hobart and William Smith.
