About The Dare to Tri - Fort Gordon Sprint Triathlon
The Dare to Tri - Fort Gordon Sprint Triathlon is a Triathlon race in Fort Gordon, Georgia consisting of a Sprint and Super Sprint, and Aquabike race consisting of a Olympic
SWIM:
The swim is a 300 meter pool swim in the Fort Gordon Indoor 50m Pool. Participants start at one side of the pool and snake their way up and down each lane as they work towards the other side of the pool. Being a pool swim race, participants must submit an estimated 100 yard swim time when registering. These times are used for seeding purposes. It is in your best interest to submit a time as accurate as possible. Submitting a time that is too fast for you puts you up with swimmers who will be passing you during the swim - not good for you or them. Putting aKeep Reading time that is too slow places you with slower swimmers and forces you to have to pass everyone. The ideal scenario for all participants is to have people submit accurate times - the whole swim flows better. Swim caps will be provided for this event.
The swim start process involves all the Age Groupers, Collegiates, Clydesdales, Active Duty Military, Athenas, and Relay Teams going off first, followed by all the Novices.
BIKE:
The bike course is a 16K loop with a small lollipop. The course is rolling to hilly and takes place completely on the Fort Gordon base. The roads are open to traffic - but traffic is usually fairly light.
RUN:
The 5K run course is a single loop, nearly completely on the 3 mile running trail. The course is flat.
