IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship Qualification Slots
Swim
1.9km swim in the clear, fresh waters of Lake TaupA with a water temperature around 19 degrees Celsius (approximately 64 degrees Fahrenheit). Starting on the beach, the course takes swimmers towards the Yacht Club in a clockwise direction. Athletes will exit and cross Lake Terrace and make their way to the transition zone on Kaimanawa Reserve.Keep Reading
Bike
The 90km course starts to the cheers of spectators before heading into the rural landscape surrounding TaupA. Starting at Kaimanawa Reserve, athletes will follow Rifle Range Rd onto Broadlands Rd. There will be two doglegs onto Centennial Drive and View Road. Athletes will take a left onto Vaile Road towards Reporoa. The return leg brings riders back along Broadlands Rd to Rifle Range Road. before finishing back at Kaimanawa Reserve.
Run
The Hoka run course is a two-lap 21.1km course leading athletes through town twice. Athletes can take in the lakefront scenery to Rainbow Bay and return.
