Ironman Kalmar - Kalmar - Triathlon

In Kalmar you get the true Small City, Big Heart vibe, as you stroll around in this beautiful Swedish county with seaside charm. Everyone in the neighborhood shows up to cheer you on all day long, as you will be racing in their backyard. From an immensely crowded and emotional swim start, you take off with the sound of shots being fired over the Kalmar Strait. The marvel of the Scandinavian landscape is on display at every turn on the 180km bike course, where you will cross the iconic 6km long bridge to the island of A-land, and celebrate your achievement at Europe's biggest IRONMAN finish line party.

Swim
The one-loop 3.8 km (2.4 mile) swim takes athlete into the Kalmar strait and the waters of the Baltic Sea. Frantic crowds line the shoreline where the course turns back to the city and athletes swim an arm's length away from the spectators.

Bike
The two-loop 180.2 (112 mile) bike course heads out to the island of A-land known for its stunning natural beauty and then leads back to the mainland as athletes cross the famous A-land bridge a second time. Enjoy it, usually it's a no-go for bikes!

Run
The three-loop 42.2 km (26.2. mile) run course has gained quite a reputation as the whole city turns up to celebrate. Athlete run along the beach, through the city center and through the city wall at VA¤sterport before they finish next to the cathedral.
