The Ironman Vichy is a Triathlon race in Auvergne, consisting of a Ironman.
Nostalgic French elegance
Vichy, known as the "Queen of Spa Towns", offers a double-race weekend and one of the best finish line parties on the circuit. Tree-lined boulevards laid out in the 19th century, and art-deco buildings such as the OpAra de Vichy, add to the town's nostalgic feel. This elegant and well-known city is the perfect host for swimming, cycling, running and finally relaxing thanks to its' many spas. Most of the time, this is a warm water race, and on top of that this full distance event features a challenging bike course and beautiful run along the waterways of the city.
Swim
The swimming takes place in the lake of Allier. The lake that hosts the swimming of the IRONMAN in Vichy. It has a surface of 120 hectares, on 2,5 km length between the bridge of Bellerive and the bridge-dam. This lake is the ideal place to practice water sports: rowing, swimming, sailing, .... We can also find the beach of the Vieure lake, the only beach labeled "Blue Flag" in the Allier.
Rolling Start Swim start by estimated time. 5 athletes each 6 seconds will jump into the water. Once a starting corral is empty, the following group enter into the area and after 30 seconds, the Rolling start will restart.

Bike
The first few kilometres are along the banks of Lake Allier before a flat section of 15km. The first ascent will be at St Yorre where you will climb to Busset. The technical descent of Les Corres follows, leading you to the Sichon valley. In Cusset, a festive spectator-filled atmosphere awaits before you take on the 72km loop which you will complete twice.
Power up at the first food and drink aid station in order to face La BruyAre hill and the Isserpent plateau. Catch your breath as you descend to the Moulin de Chatel, you will need it before hitting the 3% gradient, 16km climb to St Nicolas des Biefs. Take the time to admire the landscape and climb at a steady pace.
After the summit, enjoy the downhill towards St Clement which offers magnificent views on the Puy de Montoncel and the Loge des Gardes. When exiting St Clement, a small hill will guide you to Le Mayet de Montagne and the 4th aid station.
Then, head to Arronnes, enjoy the downhill and make your way back to Cusset, through the Sichon valley. In Cusset, fans will be there to pump you up for the second loop. The way back to T2 will take you through the cities of Cusset and Vichy, in 100% urban streets.

Run
The four-loop 42.2 km (26.2 mile) run course leads around Lac d'Allier as well as through the parks of Vichy. Expect a wonderful running experience on a flat and fast.
