About The Great Bison Shuffle
The Great Bison Shuffle is a Running race in Cheyenne, Wyoming consisting of a 1 Mile Trail Run and 10K Trail Run and 2 Mile Trail Run and 5K Trail Run.
The course is on the scenic Terry Bison Ranch and benefits Cheyenne Regional's Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs through the purchase of new exercise equipment. This program supports patients who have been diagnosed with heart and lung disease primarily through supervised exercise and education.
This is a rare opportunity to run/walk on an actual working buffalo ranch. The Terry Bison ranch was originally the south headquarters of the historic Warren Livestock Company and used for raising cattle and sheep. President Theodore Roosevelt visited the ranch twice in the early 1900's. In 1993, the ranch was purchased by the Thiel family and the great American buffalo were introduced. The ranch isKeep Reading now 27,500 acres and stretches into Northern Colorado.
Terrain consists of gentle rolling hills on gravel roads, dirt roads and trails. Restrooms are available at the start/finish line. Aid-stations will be available halfway through the 5k and 10k courses. Walkers are welcome!
