Bow Wow and Meow 5K - Williamsburg, Virginia - Running

The Bow Wow and Meow 5K is a Running race in Williamsburg, Virginia consisting of a 1 Mile and 5K.

The Bow Wow and Meow 5K Run/Walk is an event that will be held at York River State Park, Williamsburg, VA. This event is coordinated by Colonial Sports and B & B Event Planners and will benefit Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society. This race is professionally chip-timed by Colonial Sports.

GMHS' mission is to improve life for all animals by providing temporary shelter, compassionate care, community support, and education for a service region that spans from the Northern Neck to the Peninsula. With an impressive live-release rate of 100 percent for small animals and birds, 98 percent for dogs and puppies, and 92 percent for cats and kittens, GMHS is committed to saving and transforming the lives of homeless pets while they await adoption. As a non-profit organization receiving limited funding from local governments, GMHS relies heavily upon donations to fund their life-saving work, and saving lives is expensive.

The event will kick off at 8:00 a.m. with the fun run. The 5K will start at 8:35 a.m. Awards will be given to top qualifiers of the 5K run/walk of each age group.
Race day also offers an additional opportunity to support GMHS' life-saving mission by donating to the pet food and supply drive. We'll be accepting donations of canned and dry dog and cat food, treats, and pet supplies, including toys and blankets. Each individual who donates to the pet food and supply drive will receive one raffle ticket and be entered into a drawing for one of the amazing prizes donated by race supporters.
