ABOUT THIS RACE:
Race Starting Location:
110 Vintage Park BLVD, Houston, TX
The Vintage Park Half Marathon is a Running race in Houston, Texas consisting of a Kids Run/Fun Run.
Welcome to the Vintage Park Half Marathon presented by Amstel XLight, the finale of the Bayou City Half Series.
Join us for the inaugural Vintage Park Half Marathon, now part of the Bayou City Half Marathon Series. The race includes distances for athletes of all ages and skill levels; half marathon, half marathon relay, 5k, and kids 1k.
The Vintage Park Half Marathon course starts under the iconic Vintage Park arches then heads down to the Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve where you will get to run through the trails of this beautiful nature preserve. Upon exiting the Preserve, runners will then make a loop around the beautiful tree-lined roads surrounding Vintage Park before heading down Louetta Rd. towards Champion Forest. Runners will continue south down Champion Forest until they make a right hand turn onto Cypresswood. Dr. Another right turn onto Cutten Rd will take runners back to the Vintage Preserve Pkwy for one final loop before the finish in the Vintage Park parking lot just outside Peli Peli.
The Half Marathon course is USATF certified, and will be well marked. Additionally it will be patrolled by police at all necessary intersections and lined with appropriate traffic control devices and signage. Mile markers in the form of large 20a orange teardrop flags will be placed every mile and there will be hydration stations stocked with water and Gatorade at miles 1.9, 3.8, 5.2, 6.6, 8.2, 9.5, 11.2 and 12.5. These hydration stations will also have portable restrooms should you need them. Mischer Preserve has restrooms near, but not at, the first water stop. We will have mini medical stations positioned at mile 6.5 and at the finish line.
Relay Exchange Point: The relay exchange point will be located at approximately mile 6.55 on Louetta between Cutten Rd. and Vintage Preserve Parkway. There will be flags and signage to direct runners to the relay exchange point. The relay exchange point is just under a mile walk from the start line and parking lot so it's recommended that runners simply walk to and from the exchange point.
