About The Woodlawn Run for a Cause
The Woodlawn Run for a Cause is a Running race in Bronx, New York consisting of a Kids Run/Fun Run and 5K.
The mission of the Woodlawn Run for a Cause is to raise awareness and funds for a variety of causes in the Bronx and Yonkers, while encouraging good physical health. More than 2,500 runners and walkers have completed the 3.1 mile course. More importantly, more than $150,000 has been raised for the following charities: Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund, Children's Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center, Compassionate Care Hospice, Part of the Solution, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Calvary Hospital, Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, Bronx Community Health Network, Friends of Van Cortlandt Park, Mercy Center, Peace Outside Campus, Kalie Gill Family Foundation, National Brain Tumor Society, Ty Louis Campbell Foundation, HOPe Charity, Boomer EsiasonKeep Reading Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, Quinn for the Win, Making Headway Foundation, and The Matthew Wallace Foundation. The course will be slightly different than in the past due to construction at Indian Field. The race will start on Nursery Road. Proceeds from this year's event will benefit Yonkers Partners in Education and NAMI: National Alliance on Mental Illness.
