Hundreds of runners come to Minneapolis each year to run in the annual Brian Kraft Memorial 5K. Brian Kraft was a promising young runner, when at the age of 19 he was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a rare form of blood cancer, in his back. The diagnosis may have cut Brian's competitive career short, but it hardly stopped him from running. In fact, over the next 15 years Brian could be found running around the lakes and parkways and immersing himself in the local running community before passing away in 1997.
