The Optimist Club OK 5K run/walk is presented by the Eden Prairie Optimist Club. Proceeds go to the community programs of the Optimists, including the Hooked on Fishing competition, Valleyfair trip for School Patrols, Eden Prairie Center Halloween Party, Essay and Oratorical contests, Youth Appreciation Award and the Avid college preparation program. The group also supports PROP, Eden Prairie Crime Prevention Fund, Prairie-Fest, and Childhood Cancer Campaign.
