About The Camy 5K Run & David 5K Walk
The Camy 5K Run & David 5K Walk is a Running race in Walpole, Massachusetts consisting of a Kids Run/Fun Run and 5K.
THE EVENT
Held at the Walpole Italian-American Club, 109 Stone St., Walpole, Mass., the USATF-certified event was created in 2001 in honor of Camilio "Camy" Clerici and his grandson, David Clerici, Walpole Italian-American Society members who died nine months apart in 2000. The free Rosina Fun Run for kids is named in honor of Camy's widow and David's grandmother, who died in 2006.
The David 5K Walk top finisher trophies were renamed in 2016 upon the passing of Camy & Rosina's son and David's father. The trophy awarded to the first male finisher is the Frank Clerici Sr. Award; the trophy awarded to the first female finisher is theKeep Reading Carol Hunt-Clerici Award, named after Frank's surviving widow, as a way to honor the couple.
