Run Medford 8k and 5k - Medford, Massachusetts - Running

The Run Medford 8k and 5k is a Running race in Medford, Massachusetts consisting of a 5K and 8K.

Medford is where it all started for Dave McGillivray, and after more than 40 years of running adventures, he wants to show his appreciation the best way he knows how: by organizing a road race with the explicit purpose of raising funds that would directly benefit his hometown.

Starting and finishing at Medford City Hall, the 5K and 8K courses are scenic tours through the heart of the city. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a weekend jogger, the course was created for all ability levels.

The kids' races are age-dependent distances: 1/3 mile, 2/3 mile, and 1 mile, starting and finishing on City Hall Mall. The youth who are participating in the Dream Big Marathon will run their final milea"3 loopsa"together.

The Mayor's Celebrity Milea"invitation onlya"is a 3-loop course starting and finishing on City Hall Mall.

Road Closures
Medford Public Safety will begin to secure the roads at 12:00pm. The following will be closed to vehicular traffic until 2:00pm.

Course Restrictions + Support
For the safety of all runners, skateboards, rollerblades, Kangoo Jump shoes, animals, and unauthorized bicycles and wheeled devices are not permitted in this event.

Everyone participating in this event must be registered, including children. We highly recommend that children under the age of 12 be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

Time Limit
The time limit to complete the 5K and 8K courses is 90 minutes. Those still on the course after this time may be asked to move to the sidewalk to complete the course as an ainformed pedestrian.a

Water Stations
Water will be available along the course as well as the Start Line Area, the Finish Line, and the Post-Race Party.

Portable Toilets
Portable toilet facilities will be located at the start and finish areas.
