Dare to Remember 5K - Boxford, Massachusetts - Running

The Dare to Remember 5K is a Running race in Boxford, Massachusetts consisting of a 1 Mile and 5K.

The DARE TO REMEMBER 5K race in honor of Boxford Police Officer Michelle Nowak's work and contributions to our community. The DARE TO REMEMBER expression started by Zoe Milmoe as a response to the passing of Officer Michelle Nowak on September 23, 2017. This tragic event affected the lives of so many within the Communities of Boxford, Middleton, Danvers, and the law enforcement community at large. Michele's passing was a devastating loss to her husband Mark and children Allyson and Christopher as well as a larger community who cherished her life. With the profound assistance of Boxford and Middleton Police Departments Zoe's keepsake bracelets expressing DARE TO REMEMBER, raised more than $1800 towards her goal of placing a memorial paver on Boxford Commons in Officer Nowak's honor. This will be accomplished this fall. Zoe and her fellow 6th graders did not have a DARE class this past year because of this tragic event. Zoe and her family want Officer Nowak's passing to have a positive and profound impact on the community for years to come by raising funds for DARE education. The new goal for DARE TO REMEMBER is a 5K race that will start and end on Boxford Common where her memorial paver will be placed.
