The Laps for Lexi is a Running race in Sandy Spring, Maryland consisting of a 1 Mile and 5K Trail Run.
Laps for Lexi is a fun-filled morning, held on the last Saturday of September (Childhood Cancer Awareness Month). We celebrate what Lexi Speight loved most in life - her family, friends, Care Bears, the color purple and most especially, laughing!
There will be a 5K cross country fun run, 1-mile cross country walk and children's activities. Well-trained, child-friendly dogs on leashes are invited to join in the fun on the 1-mile walk.
The course is confusing and there were no race markers at key points on the trail, so many runners got lost and ended up running far from the course. It is a nice event as a charitable fundraiser and memorial but it is not designed with the runners in mind.
