Kewash Trail Half Marathon - Washington, Iowa - Running

The Kewash Trail Half Marathon is a Running race in Washington, Iowa consisting of a Half Marathon Trail Run.

Annual Kewash Trail Half Marathon. We have a distance for everyone, from a 5K, 10K (new this year) to a Half Marathon.

We are changing our course from the previous years. Runners will loop around our downtown area then head toward the park. You will run approximately 1.5 miles before you get on the paved portion of the trail. You will run another 1 - 1 1/2 miles before the trails turns into crushed limestone. There will be a short hill after the first .25 mile another short small hill at approx. 1.5 miles and then a short hill on the trail.
The Kewash trail is a gradual decline and incline with some flat areas. It is NOT a hilly course by any means, but you will see some short small hills along they way.

Water stops will be a miles 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10 & 12. We will have Gatorade and water and some other carbohydrates as well. There will be a Porta potty at mile 5 & 9 (if it rains that might change the location) There is also a restroom available in the park at about miles 1.5 & 12.5 (it is just a little off the course) Indoor restrooms are available at the start/finish. Showers are available at the Y for no charge.

We will have ampule food and drinks at the end! (Homemade cinnamon rolls, pepsi products, chocolate milk, chocolate chip cookies, bananas, chips, granola bars!) There will also be areas to take pictures to celebrate your finish.
