Girls on the Run 5k - Central Illinois - Springfield, Illinois - Running

The Girls on the Run 5k - Central Illinois is a Running race in Springfield, Illinois consisting of a 5K.

At the end of the 10-week Girls on the Run season, all of our girls in our 15 county territory will participate in Community 5k Event. This celebratory, non-competitive event is the culminating experience within the GOTR curriculum. Girls set running goals over the course of the program which helps prepare them for the final event. Completing the 5k gives the girls a tangible understanding of the confidence that comes through accomplishment as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. Crossing the finish line is a defining moment when your girl realizes that even the seemingly impossible IS possible.

We encourage parents, siblings, family, friends, and community members to run/walk the 5k to celebrate our girls reaching their goal!

Note: This race is a non-competitive celebratory run and is NOT chip-timed. Each runner will receive a participant medal at the finish line.
