The Army Ten-Miler is a Running race in Washington, District of Columbia consisting of a 10 Miles.
The Army Ten-Miler road race starts and finishes at the Pentagon with a scenic course through Washington, DC.
The Army Ten-Miler is produced by the Military District of Washington (MDW). The MDW serves as the Army Forces Component and core staff element of the Joint Force Headquarters National Capital Region to conduct operations that deter, prevent, and respond to threats aimed at the National Capital Region; and conducts world-class ceremonial, musical and special events in support of our Nation's leadership. Over 600 Soldiers from 3rd Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) volunteer race weekend.
The ATM is held each October in Washington, DC. All race proceeds benefit Soldier MWR programs.
The race was well-organized and a lot of fun. The course is pretty flat and there were lots of cheerers along the way, especially around the mall. The water stations were placed in good locations and there were lots of people giving out water, so it didn't get too crowded or More...
We did not know that they had turned the race into a "recreational event" until the finish line. We did not know they shortened the course until the finish line.
This is one of my favorite races and always will be. Unfortunately mother nature played a nasty part this year and the heat and humidity made it a really tough one for so many. Army did a great job helping everyone that needed it and still managed to keep More...
