Amazing course and fantastic staff. There really isn't a bunch of reviews for this race (although I found a few I would have like to have read more) so I felt I needed to add to that. It was a little cold at the beginning but by mile 2 More... it was perfect conditions. The scouts did a great job with water and Gatorade. One thing I wish I had known or thought of before the race was the road banks pretty hard on the corners. That to me was the toughest part as I never had the opportunity to train for it. I felt I had to focus on balance way more than I should have and it pulled away from my zone. By mile 10 those banks really did work on my toes as I used then harder for stability than I ever figured I would. This had the small town feel I was looking for. All the runners were very nice, I met some great people. The timing system wasn't updating very fast for whatever reason so we ended up leaving before we could see the official times. Had I known I placed 2nd in my age group I would have stayed to see if there was a prize, maybe a cup, 13.1 sticker, a shirt or what not. Maybe they dont do that. The official time finally appeared a day later while we were driving the 12 hours home. The swag we did receive was outstanding. I'll probably wear that long sleeve shirt until my wife cuts it from my body. The finish medal was badass, baby blue with their race logo. I absolutely recommend this race. I also recommend running some banked corners if possible as it might save a little pain at the end. I will run it again next year to see if I can beat my time and I will train on banks to build the toes up.
