Hot Cocoa 5K - Oro Valley, Arizona - Running

"Nice way to start the year"

Location was easy to reach.
Volunteers did their best to help parking (lot of spaces available even for an attendance of about 500 runners) and manage people before and after the run (beverage and snacks available).
The course was nice and easy on the cycling/walking path along the wash (the wash More... was actually pleasantly filled with running water due to the rains of the latest 2 days).
Let us go to the remarks:
1) the timing was taken not by chip (as instead advertised) but manually by the organisation volunteers.
2) The track was a little shy of the declared 5k (My GPS measured about 4.73km, another runner told me he measured about 2.9 miles).
3) the race was back and forth along the very same path without a real physical division among the 2 "lanes". I think I saw someone turning back before arriving at the real turning point.

Considering the chill, the idea of providing hot cocoa gloves was very welcomed!
All in all a good experience, considering we were not there to run the Olympics, but to celebrate the start of the year with a nice "communitarian" jog.
