Race Description
This event is a 1/2 Marathon and 5k running/walking event in beautiful Haines, Alaska. Participants of the 5K run or walk along a route that stops at over a dozen totem poles carved by world famous artists in the Pacific Northwest Coast Native art style surrounded by mountains.
The 1/2 Marathon begins at the Chilkoot River, where the brown bears come in August to catch and eat the spawning salmon, and follows along the Lutak Inlet before meeting the Upper Lynn Canal, North America's largest fjord, and continuing into Haines for a running tour of our town's exquisitely-carved totem poles.
