Gopher to Badger Half Marathon - Stillwater, Minnesota - Running

The Gopher to Badger Half Marathon is a Running race in Stillwater, Minnesota consisting of a Half Marathon and 10K and 5K.

Represent your state in this epic showdown! Starting in the Stillwater, Minnesota area and finishing in Hudson, Wisc., runners cross the I-94 bridge over the St. Croix River, and battle for the lead and the honor of bringing home the win for their state. This race has been taking place annually since 1997 with half and 5K distances and now includes a 10K! Come for the spirit of friendly competition. Stay for the food and festivities in Hudson after the race.

With a tip of our hat to the most played rivalry in NCAA Division I Football a" The Axe between the University of Minnesota and the University of Wisconsin a" the Gopher to Badger Half Marathon is excited to announce the establishment of its own rivalry competition: aThe Battle for the Hatcheta!

At registration, each participant will be asked to declare their loyalty to Minnesota or Wisconsin (or you can opt to stay neutral).

At race-end, the top five times for runners who have declared their loyalty to that state a" male and female at each distance for the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K a" will be combined to declare a team time. The state with the lowest combined time will be declared the winner at the race and announced at the finish line. How much fun is that?
