Race Submittal Guidelines

Allowed Events

Running:  Road, Trail, Kids, Fun Run, Walk, Ultra

Obstacle/Adventure:  Mud Run, Obstacle Course, Adventure Race, Kids, Color Run, Foam Run, Beer Run….

Triathlon:  Road, Trail, Indoor, Youth/Kids

Cycling:  Road, Cyclocross, Gran Fondo, Recreational Event, Time Trial, Youth/Kids

Mountain Biking

Duathlon, Aquabike, Aquathlon:  Road, Trail, Indoor, Youth/Kids

Events not allowed

Training Camps/Clinics/Programs, Virtual Races, CrossFit events, Private Events

General Guidelines

1.     Please DO NOT include website pages directly linking to registration submission pages; however, you CAN submit to a general registration/landing page

2.     Please DO NOT include year specific information in the Race Name or description (i.e. “2016 Polar Bear Run”, “The 2016 Polar Bear Run will take place on the 1st Saturday of……)

3.     Please DO NOT include wording or sponsors in the Race Name such as “Annual, Fundraiser, 5th, Presented, Under Armour, etc”  Only for certain circumstances should the title sponsor be included in the Race Name

4.     Please DO NOT enter a new submission for an existing race in our database.  If you need to update some details, such as date/description/course maps/etc, please use the “CLAIM A RACE” button displayed on the right

5.     Enter ALL races/distances for each race/event. For example, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon & Half should list “5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon, Kids Run” 

6.     For race series occurring on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, submit ONLY one race and indicate under “Additional Information” that the race occurs at specific intervals.  List the frequency and/or dates which the race(s) occur

7.     If you would like to submit a large list of races which are part of a race series, please email support@racethread.com

Submit A Race Guidelines

1.     Starting Location/Address: Should be a specific location – park, school, building, reservoir, lake, intersection….

2.     Race URL: In order of preference, should be from official race website (i.e. runrocknroll.com/Arizona), organization website (i.e. runrocknroll.com), Facebook page (ie facebook.com/RnRArizona), registration page (i.e. Active.com, RunSignUp.com, etc), PDF/JPEG file/link

3.     Race Course URL: Should link to a specific course map URL/JPEG/PDF.  If there are multiple course maps for a race, link to the course maps page or pick one map to link to

4.     Race Logo URL: Preferably this should be a URL link of the race logo or illustration in JPEG/GIF/PNG.  This should be sourced from the official race website, however, this can also be linked to an icon from a Facebook/Twitter page, or other non-official race website (Active/RunSignUp, etc)  Try NOT to include logos with years

5.     Start Date: For single day races, enter the day of the race.  For multi-day events/races/series, enter the 1st day of the race

6.     End Date: Enter the last day of the race.  ONLY use this for events/races lasting longer than one day (i.e. 24 hours, 3-day adventure race).  For race series, enter the last day of the year in which the event occurs

7.     Start Time: Enter the starting time of the race, or if there are multiple waves, starting time of the 1st wave

8.     Race Contact Email Address:  Enter a valid email address.  Preferably a race director/organizer/marketing contact.  This will be used to verify your event

9.     Race Description:  Provide a detailed description of the race or events.  This could be as short as one sentence, or as detailed as 3 paragraphs detailing parking, the race expo, awards, etc.

Race Events/Distances Submission

1.     Check all appropriate Race Type(s) which occur (i.e. Running)

2.     Under each sport, check all race distance(s) which apply (i.e. 5K, 10K, Marathon, Ultra)

3.     Check “OTHER” if your race distance is not listed and write in specific distance (i.e. 15 mile, 2 Day)

4.     If submitting a race distance for Obstacle/Adventure, please categorize your race into either: Short 1-4 miles, Intermediate 5-9 miles, Long 10+ miles, Kids Run.  If your race does not fit into any of these categories, please check off “Other.”  .”  In the Race Description you can detail the exact distances of your race(s)

5.     If submitting a race distance for Triathlon, Duathlon, Aquabike, Aquathlon, please categorize your race into either: Super Sprint, Sprint, Olympic, Half Ironman, Ironman, Youth/Kids. If your race does not fit into any of these categories, please check “Other.”  In the Race Description you can detail the exact distances of your race(s)

6.     For any other race details, please use the “Additional Information” and enter specific details and/or instructions
