Ran the state side half marathon because I got closed out of the Canada/U.S. Half. But, getting over that disappointment was easier with the 10 am start. Flat course with lots to see. Bridges, parks, sky scrapers, tuba and bag pipe players, costumes and fountains. Detroit is not as broken down

Aside from exits being closed and almost not making it to the start line, I loved this race and thought it was an excellent first marathon for myself. So much crowd support and motivation along the way. 10/10 would do it again.

This is such a fun course! All downhill in the beginning, beautiful and iconic San Diego scenery and great community and race support. For a summer race, they do great with providing plenty of water and cool-down opportunities. The hill at the end is killer, just be prepared and
