I try to run this 5K every year. I consider it a good motivational race for the upcoming new year. A very popular race with local running clubs. Clifton Roadrunners, North Jersey Masters and the DeNovo Harriers were all there. Late 11:00 am start works well for New year's Eve party

"Tips and Notes:
- you don't need to get there as early as they say
- mentally challenging to pass the halfway mark with others finishing - as with almost all half/full marathon races
- good crowd support in the beginning, a bit less on the second half
- work in hill training - not

I ran this race a few weeks ago. I've learned from past experience anytime a Fire Department is involved in a race there is usually something good about it. This year's race was a USATF-NJ Men's Championship race which brought in an extra 200+ seasoned runners.
