The Great Salt Lake Open Water Swim 10K & 1 Mile is a Swimming race in Magna, Utah consisting of a 10K.

One of America's Top 100 Open Water Swims!

Experience swimming in one of the saltiest and most unique bodies of water on the planet at the annual Great Salt Lake Open Water Swim. Choose from 1 mile or 10K(ish) swims with "assisted" (wetsuit, fins, paddles, etc) and "unassisted" (suit, cap, goggles) divisions.

"Beat the Brine Shrimp"

One of the 1-mile swimmers will be designated as the "brine shrimp" and will be visible to all other swimmers. Anyone who finished ahead of the "brine shrimp" will win an extra prize.

The one mile swim is open to swimmers 12 years of age and up.

Please be aware that swimmers participating in the 10K swim are required to have their own support boat and paddler. We can help you find a kayak and have it ready for you at the starting line for an additional $30. We can also find you a support paddler for an additional $30. Paddlers are limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis, with priority given to swimmers outside of Utah.

All swimmers are welcome to wear safety buoys such as the New Wave Swim Buoy.

Same day registrations will be accepted ONLY for the 1-mile swim.
