Strade Bianche is a Italian gravel road race held in the region of Tuscany, Italy. This event is famous for its rough roads and cobble stone streets. Thus the Stokesville Strade has been born! The Stokesville Strade is Stokesville Va's premier gravel road grinder. Routes will showcase a great variety of gravel, dirt and pavement. With rolling Shenandoah Valley roads this is a great early season event.
The route will take riders on a scenic 32 mile journey past historical landmarks and by majestic Shenandoah Valley farms rich in Civil War history. Ride options are1 lap or 2 laps. The fasters riders on the day will be dubbed the Italian Stallion and the Ciao Bella.
Start/Finish and parking for event will be held at the Stokesville Campground. Use the main entrance at the YELLOW STOKESVILLE DEPOT house and follow the arrows to the left when you enter the open fields. We are directing you down towards the barn above the Stokesville Lodge. After the event riders can relax with some Italian theme goodies provided by Shenandoah Mountain Touring down at the Stokesville Lodge. If you have a favorite Italian dish please bring some to share! We will be providing Chicken Pesto Pasta with some Mozzeralla or Roasted Tomatoes on a Baguette. We are in search of the freshest Baguette, which is hard to find at Stokesville. If you have a fresh delicious source you can pick up in route contact us and we will reimburse you for the pickup and delivery!!
We are excited to announce our Health Warrior Station at the half way point on Kyles Mill. It will be an oasis on a scenic knoll featuring Chia Bar's, snacks and fluids to get you the rest of the way around the route. Make sure you don't pass mile 16 without filling up. The route is a bit more earnest on the return.
