For the fifth time, Spartans are invited to participate in the Fenway Sprint over two days, November 12th and 13th. Gain unprecedented access to previously closed off areas of America's Most Beloved Ballpark.
Do burpees in the clubhouse, run on the warning track, and sprint through the finish line at home plate. With the Green Monster as the backdrop, Fenway is a perfect race for the whole family.
Additionally, take in historic Lansdowne street and Kenmore Square in the surrounding areas of the park. Once you finish the race, there is so much more the beautiful city of Boston has to offer.
TOP REASONS TO TAKE ON THIS COURSE:
1. Fenway is America's oldest ballpark. There is history etched into the very foundations of the park. Wouldn't you want to run on the same field the greatest baseball players of all-time have played on?
2. The kids will have a chance to run with Wally The Green Monster, the official mascot of the Red Sox.
3. Some of the most popular restaurants in Boston are a spear throw away from Fenway. Boston Beer Works, Cask'n Flagon, and Neptune Oyster to name a few.
This race was awsome, and I'm not originally from Boston and don't even really care for the Red Sox. They did a nice job with the wave starts (a change from previous Spartan Races I have participated in) and nothing beats doing push-ups in the locker room, running out through the dugout, and then seeing yourself on the big screens as you run the bases to finish out the race. Even for the non-baseball fan, this was a ton of fun.
Packet pick-up was well organized outside of the stadium but the "expo" part was a tad crowded. The Spartan Races annoy me a bit because you don't get a race-specific t-shirt (it just says "Trifecta Qualifier," which is a clever cost-saving approach on their part) or medal, but it's still worth it.
Raced in 2015 and competed in Obstacle/Adventure: Short- Sprint 3-5 Miles - 20-23 Obstacles.
Experience level is Intermediate and stayed in Not Applicable.
