The Bearkat Bolt 5K is a Running race in Huntsville, Texas consisting of a 5K.

Sam Houston State University students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members are invited to participate in the SHSU Greek Life Bearkat Bolt 5K. Sponsored by the SHSU Greek Life Office, the run/walk will take place on the SHSU campus starting in the Bowers Football Stadium parking lot and finishes on the 50 yard line inside of Bowers Stadium (located at 620 Bowers Blvd, Huntsville, TX 77340). Race day check-in begins at 6:45 a.m. and the Bearkat Bolt 5K Run/Walk will start at 8 a.m. The new addition to this year's event, the Bearkat Bolt Kids 1 miler for children ages 6-12 will begin at 8:15 a.m. All participants will receive aKeep Reading finisher shirt, finisher medal, and football game ticket. A course cutoff time is not something we "want" to have it's something we "need" and are "required" to have. Due to the strictness of county road usage and approvals on permits we have to make sure we are on and off the roads within certain time allowances. The times listed below are more than reasonable for most runners/walkers to complete the course.
