Mission Tejas State Park, Grapeland, TX
The Mission Tejas Trail Run is a Running race in Grapeland, Texas consisting of a 50K Trail Run (Ultra) and 25K Trail Run and 10K and 5K.
he trails are a great mix of straw pine laces single track, winding downhills and fun CCC built rock stairs. When you are running towards the front of the park you will be climbing and coming back you will be descending so prepare for some vert.
Very well organized race. I did not get lost- which is unusual for me. Being from the coast , the mountains were killers. The thin air was tough.
My only knock is that I still don't know if I DNFd. I thought that, for the 25K, we were supposed to run More...
Well organized. Lots of goodies at aid station - free to spectators as well. Probably not enough volunteers. Great venue. Iconic Deep East Texas Piney Woods setting. Mostly narrow single track - makes passing difficult. Parking limited and can be over 3/10ths of mile from start area up a steep hill. More...
