The Southwest 100 is a Running race in Fort Davis, Texas consisting of a Half Marathon Trail Run and Marathon Trail Run and 100 Mile Trail Run (Ultra) and 10K Trail Run and 50 Mile Trail Run (Ultra) and 5K Trail Run.
Nestled in the historic Davis Mountains, this race starts on the legendary San Antonio-El Paso Road in the heart of Fort Davis National Historic Site. This remote outpost in the 1800s was set up by the U.S. Army as a refuge for travelers making the 600 mile journey by horse or wagon train through hostile Indian country. It was also home to the famous Buffalo Soldiers.
From Fort Davis, racers will climb through rocky single track further into the Davis Mountains as they enter Davis Mountains State Park. As vast panoramas open up, racers will take in the thin mountain air at over a mile high.
