The Race for the Golden Helix 5K is a Running race in Cookeville, Tennessee consisting of a Kids Run/Fun Run and 5K.

The ASBMB Golden Helix 5K (3.1 mile) race is an open-road race; main roads are not closed. Walkers Welcome!!! A police escort is provided, and emergency services are on-call. The section of Stadium Drive between Prescott Hall and Sherlock Park (from 10th St. to University Drive) are closed for the start and finish celebrations. The race happens rain or shine; there are no refunds. Strollers are welcome and should group behind all runners at the start line. No pets allowed without a doggy bag. The 5K is a chip timed. USATF Certified Course #TN14097MS is timed for 70 minutes. Lots of Prizes! Door prizes! Entertainment!
