About The Black Hills Mountain Fest
The Black Hills Mountain Fest is a Running race in Rapid City, South Dakota consisting of a 5K and 10K.
The first festival of its kind in the area, the Black Hills Mountain Fest is here to showcase all the awesome ways people enjoy the beautiful Black Hills. Join us for races, seminars, outdoor vendors, and FREE concerts nightly! This is a great chance to network with other outdoor enthusiasts, gear up and talk with the businesses promoting outdoor recreation. Whether you hike, bike, fly fish, run, rock climb, or just enjoy live music and local beer, the Black Hills Mountain Fest has something for you. Proceeds from the festival will help fund outdoor education, trail maintenance, and opportunities for youth in Rapid City.
Trail run with a 5k orKeep Reading 10k distance option that is included in the Black Hills Runners Club Trail Series points. You do not need to be a member to participate. Run will start and finish at Founders Park within the event venue. Course will take you up into Hanson-Larsen Memorial Park and will be marked with signage and race tape.
Mountain Bike Race is a short course of approximately 3 miles that incorporates technical features, steep climbs, fast flats and roaring descents. Racers will take off in waves from the start line and sprint to the Holeshot corner before settling into race positions. Racers will follow the marked and closed course that will have built in passing zones. Aid stations will be located on top of HLMP and just after Start / Finish Area. Due to the shortened course length, racers will do a certain number of laps as Beginner (2 lap a 6 miles), Sport (3 laps a 9 Miles), and Expert (5 laps a 15 miles).
$30 registration fee includes event swag, chip timing, low resolution sharing photo of your finish, and beverage token. 1st a 3rd place in each category will received event medal with additional door prizes offered though out the awards ceremony. Register by May 31st to secure your swag item and the cheaper price. Prices will increase to $35 June 1st and then again to $40 on race day.
