I Run for Kaia - West Chester, Pennsylvania - Running

The I Run for Kaia is a Running race in West Chester, Pennsylvania consisting of a 5K.

On November 5th, 2017, my husband James and I received life-changing news, our daughter Kaia Alessia no longer had a heartbeat. We were full-term and expecting to bring our little girl home but our worst nightmare became our reality. Our daughter Kaia Alessia Dickey was born still on November 7th, 2017 at 1:15am. We spent about 32 hours with Kaia before we had to part ways forever. Our reality was we weren't bringing our daughter home with us, but only the little memories we had left of her. Through our grief journey, we have been thankful for the support and comfort we have received from our family, friends and kind individuals who have helped us and helped us in honoring our daughter's memory. We have been thankful to meet other parents who have unfortunately walked our same path - our children's lives were cut far too short.

The I run for Kaia Run/Walk is a way for us to honor and remember our daughter. All proceeds from our event will go towards the UNITE Grief Support Group, a local organization who help bereaved parents after the devastating loss of their baby.
