About The Belmont Plateau 5K XC Classic
The Belmont Plateau 5K XC Classic is a Running race in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania consisting of a 1 Mile Trail Run and 5K Trail Run.
This race is the opening race of the cross country season at Belmont Plateau , America's premier venue for cross country racing since 1963. Both races are run on the challenging course with a good mix of grass, gravel trails, and hills. The race is open to all age groups and teams. The event is organized by the Belmont Plateau Cross Country Hall of Fame with the help of the City of Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Dept. and the Fairmount Park Conservancy. The overall mission of the Hall of Fame is to support and promote the sport of Cross Country/Distance running in the City of Philadelphia by selectingKeep Reading an annual nomination of past distance running champions to the HOF We also sponsor awards for XC Champs for Phila Public and Catholic League, helping in the annual maintenance of the XC trails at Belmont Plateau, and raising funds to build a Walk of Fame at the park.
