The Roc Juneteenth 5K is a Running race in Rochester, New York consisting of a 5K.
Please join us for the Inaugural Juneteenth 5K Run/Walk. The race will take place in Rochester, New York at Genesee Valley Park. Located along the Genesee River, the certified 5K course offers runners beautiful and scenic park views on winding asphalt roads. There will be light food and refreshments following the race and the committee will be announcing several enhancements in the coming weeks.
Juneteenth is the celebration commemorating the end of slavery in the United States on June 19th, 1865. General Gordon Granger led 2,000 Union soldiers to Galveston, Texas with the news that slaves were now free. This news was kept from the 250,000 slaves for two years
I had a blast when I ran this race a couple of years ago Iam so sorry I wonat be able to run this year
This year the money goes to benefit Park in Rochester commemorating the end of slavery.
