Sasha's Superhero Run - Mechanicville, New York - Running

The Sasha's Superhero Run is a Running race in Mechanicville, New York consisting of a Kids Run/Fun Run and 5K.

Calling all Superheroes, Runners and Walkers! Join us for the annual Sasha's Superhero Run. This 5k run/walk and a kids fun run is a major fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House in Albany. The proceeds from the event will help provide free of charge housing and meals to the parents of seriously ill children, treated in the area hospitals. Because when a child is fighting for their life - having their parents or family close could be the best medicine.

The 5K course will loop through the residential streets of the historic Mechanicville, NY. The course is fast and flat - a perfect course for the personal best record or an easy stroll. The kids races will be held at the Tallmadge Park. This will be a fun family-friendly event with entertainment, kids activities, and a raffle. So come with your superhero attitude or go ahead and dress up in your favorite superhero-inspired costume.

The race was inspired by a local boy, Sasha, who passed away unexpectedly at 24 days of age. The superhero theme of the event was adopted to honor all parents whose babies and children left before their time, as it takes superhero strengths for these parents to go on without their kids.
