The Drug Enforcement Administration, New Jersey Division, and the New York / New Jersey High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area are pleased to invite you to attend the Operation Leyenda 4 Miler and 2 Mile walk. As part of this year's Red Ribbon Celebration, the purpose of this Run/Walk is to pay tribute to our fallen hero, DEA Special Agent Enrique Kiki Camarena. Red Ribbon Week began after the kidnapping, torture and brutal murder of DEA Agent Enrique Kiki Camarena in 1985. Agent Camarena had been working undercover in Guadalajara, Mexico for over four years. His efforts led to a tip that resulted in the discovery of a multimillion dollar narcotics manufacturingKeep Reading operation in Chihuahua, Mexico. In the weeks following the 1985 kidnapping of DEA Special Agent Enrique Kiki Camarena, the DEA launched Operation Leyenda to investigate the kidnapping. Today, the Red Ribbon Celebration brings millions of people together to take a stand against drugs and pay tribute to our fallen hero DEA Special Agent Enrique Kiki Camarena.
Packet pickup will be at 8 AM on the morning of the race.
