The Newport Cultural Center 5K is a Running race in Newport, Maine consisting of a 5K and 1 Mile Kids Run/Fun Run.
The Newport Cultural Center 5K race/walk and 1 mile Fun Run will follow a gentle, shaded course though the neighborhoods near Lake Sebasticook. Walkers are welcome to participate. The first fifty registrants will receive a T-shirt. The pre-registration fee is $20. Race day registration is $25. Children 12 and under can participate in the Fun Run for $5 each. Families can participate in the race/walk and/or Fun Run for $30 per family. For the Fun Run, prizes will be offered to the fastest boy and girl. There will also be prizes awarded to the fastest male and female participants in the walk/run.
This is a well organized race that follows an easy route with parts of it by the lake. Very good for beginners and family runners. Friendly atmosphere with volunteers and race coordinators.
