The Dean Williams Memorial 5K is a Running race in Shreveport, Louisiana consisting of a 5K.
Please join us as we honor our fallen law enforcement heroes. These officers have made the ultimate sacrifice for the safety and protection of our city and its people. The Shreveport Police Department has lost 29 officers in the line of duty.
Ron Dean #551 and Dewayne Williams #904 were working in the narcotics division of the Shreveport Police Department. On December 16, 1992 Ron Dean was fatally wounded while attempting to serve a search warrant for narcotics at the Pines Apartments. On March 3, 1993 Dewayne Williams was fatally wounded while attempting to serve a search warrant for narcotics at a home on Magnolia Ave.
Ron Dean and Dewayne WilliamsKeep Reading were supporters of Special Olympics during their law enforcement careers. Shreveport Police Officers along with other law enforcement agencies and civilians participate in this run each year. This run is not only in memory of Ron Dean and Dewayne Williams; it is in memory of all fallen law enforcement officers.
