About The Mark A. Chapman Road Race
The Mark A. Chapman Road Race is a Running race in Clay Center, Kansas consisting of a 10K and 2 Miles.
Join the Chamber and Clay Center as we celebrate with our town tradition of Piotique. Held each year on the last Saturday of September, Piotique comes from smashing two words together: Pioneer and Antique. Each year, hundreds of people return to Clay Center to celebrate class reunions, family reunions and all the exciting things that have happened in Clay Center over the last year. Enjoy food vendors, craft booths, exciting activities, live entertainment and dancing on our Clay County Courthouse lawn. The morning kicks off with our Mark A. Chapman Piotique Road race. Later, kids are invited to participate in the annual Kiddie Parade! We start at the Clay County MuseumKeep Reading and march around the square concluding at the Rex Theatre. Kids are invited to ride their bikes, be pulled in wagons, walk with their dogs or even just stroll through the parade. Be creative and dress up! What ever you choose, the kiddie parade is always the highlight of the morning. Later, there's lots of entertainment and fun performances from local groups downtown in front of Common Ground.
